About the Role

Parkinson Lee Executive Search is seeking a seasoned business leader to fill the position of General Manager - UK, based in the UK. As a key member of the UK Board, you will be responsible for leading and driving the UK team to deliver business performance and achieve budget and profit optimization for this £15M turnover business.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of P&L management of companies between £20M - £40M t/o within the Engineering Services Sector, with previous board experience and exceptional team-oriented leadership skills. They will also have a high level of commercial and financial awareness, as well as an understanding of NEC3 and JCT Contracting methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full P&L, implementing corrective actions as necessary
  • Oversee the newly created 'Small Works/Aftermarket' Business unit
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of customer contracts and frameworks, signing of key customer commercials and handling customer escalations
  • Deliver projects on time, within/under budget, and to technical and commercial specification
  • Ensure robust supply chain governance and auditing in place, to deliver defined cost savings and quality requirements
  • Work collaboratively with other Group business leaders / stakeholders, to support Group objectives
Requirements
  • A proven track record of P&L management of companies between £20M - £40M t/o within the Engineering Services Sector
  • Previous board experience, ideally experience of working in a group culture in an international environment
  • Exceptional team-oriented leadership skills, with experience of process change and improvement
  • A high level of commercial and financial awareness
  • An understanding of NEC3 and JCT Contracting methodologies
  • A strong Project Manager, through full life cycle of projects exceeding £10m GBP including contract law
  • A robust and customer-focused leader, with excellent communication skills, able to liaise with all internal and external stakeholders to build strong ongoing relationships
  • Understanding of HSE Regulations and CDM
