About the Role

The BBC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Project Manager to join its Data Operations team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of complex data initiatives across the organization.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of various projects, PoCs, and initiatives around Generative AI, Intelligent Process Automation, Blockchain, and other Next Gen technologies.
  • Develop and maintain program and/or project plans with robust risk management strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including senior management, product managers, and development teams, to align on project priorities and timelines.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting transparency, collaboration, and innovation in outcome delivery.
  • Lead change management programs to ensure smooth transitions and adoption of new processes, programs, and products.
  • Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and impediments, implementing mitigation strategies to drive successful strategic outcomes.
  • Ensure stakeholder commitments are met, documenting and communicating any changes to expectations.
  • Champion agile best practices, providing coaching and mentorship to teams and individuals, and facilitating the development of agile competencies.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of leading, delivering, and scaling data initiatives within large-scale organizations.
  • Expertise in creating leadership-level communications that provide clarity and understanding on complex topics.
  • Experience in navigating procurement processes and managing vendor performance effectively.
  • Strong background in change management and leading multiple complex cross-functional teams in industry or consulting environments.
  • Capable of leading delivery for multiple teams, using metrics and reporting to drive change.
  • Successful track record of making significant improvements to an organization's ways of working, leading to noticeable enhancements in success metrics.
  • Demonstrable experience in a technical, systems, or backend delivery environment.
