Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineering Lead to join our team at Leonardo. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex engineering projects from initiation to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Management: Develop and implement project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to project teams, ensuring that projects are delivered to the required quality, time, and budget.
  • Issue Management: Identify, assess, and resolve system-level issues captured during lab testing, integration, and flight trials.
  • Investigation and Redesign: Lead technical investigations and re-design activities in line with project priorities.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Establish and maintain effective communication across the project, engineering disciplines, and engineering management.
  • Team Management: Lead and motivate a multi-discipline engineering team, ensuring they are equipped and supported to deliver against their commitments.
Requirements:
  • Strong Technical Knowledge: Proven experience of working across different stages of the engineering lifecycle, with a strong understanding of system change management processes.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly understand and break down complex problems, both on your own or as part of a team.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships with engineers, managers, subject matter experts, and customers.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Experience of managing, motivating, and supporting multidisciplinary teams.
  • Requirements Management Tools: Good practical experience of using requirements management tools such as DOORS.
  • Resilience: High level of personal resilience when working in a high-pressure environment.
Desirable Skills:
  • RF Systems/Radar Systems Design and Operation: Familiarity with RF systems/Radar systems design and operation.
  • Software, Hardware, Firmware, and Integration: Familiarity with software, hardware, firmware, and integration.
