Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with challenging behaviour, helping them to develop positive relationships with peers and staff.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement behaviour management plans.
  • Assist students in developing their social and emotional skills, including self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-motivation.
  • Support students in achieving their academic and personal goals, including developing strategies for overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide behaviour management policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students in a school setting, particularly those with challenging behaviour.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, with a focus on de-escalating conflicts and promoting positive behaviour.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques, including positive reinforcement and restorative practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on supporting students and promoting a positive school culture.
