Cost Estimator with Electrical Expertise

As a Cost Estimator specializing in Electrical disciplines or having experience in Electrical & Instrumentation, you will be instrumental in overseeing all financial aspects of our engineering and construction initiatives, from preliminary assessments to final accounting.

Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our projects are executed within financial constraints while adhering to the highest quality standards. Familiarity with NEC contracts is a prerequisite for this position.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft tender and contract documentation, including quantity bills in collaboration with the architect and/or client.
  • Conduct cost evaluations for repair and maintenance projects.
  • Assist in defining client needs and carry out feasibility assessments.
  • Execute risk management, value assessment, and financial oversight.
  • Provide guidance on procurement strategies.
  • Identify, evaluate, and formulate responses to commercial risks.
  • Prepare and scrutinize cost estimates for tenders.
  • Delegate tasks to subcontractors.
  • Offer counsel on contractual claims.
  • Assess completed work and facilitate payments.
  • Stay informed about various building contracts currently in use.
  • Comprehend the implications of health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Cost Estimator with an Electrical focus or Electrical & Instrumentation background.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with NEC contracts.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accreditation (RICS or equivalent) is a plus.
