Job Summary:

Astute People is seeking a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join our team at a leading Energy from Waste site in Buckinghamshire. As an EC&I Technician, you will be responsible for performing pre-planned and reactive maintenance on all electrical, controls, and instrumentation assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on electrical, controls, and instrumentation systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct fault-finding and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues with electrical circuits, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Maintain and calibrate continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Program and configure the site's Distributed Control System (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to optimize process operations.
  • Manage and maintain accurate maintenance records using the site's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Requirements:

  • Recognised qualification in Electrical or Controls and Instrumentation Engineering (NVQ Level 3 or HNC preferred).
  • At least 4 years of experience in a heavy process environment like a power station, refinery, or chemical plant.
  • Instrumentation bias preferred.
  • Significant experience with PLCs, Control Systems, DCS, SCADA, and Instrumentation.
