Job Summary

Sun Chemical, a leading producer of packaging and graphic solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician - Electronic Materials Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Electronic Materials segment, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and testing current and new product technologies in a medical ISO environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Development: Formulate and research new and existing products for use in the Electronic Materials market, aligned with our company strategy.
  • Printing and Inkjet Expertise: Expand our knowledge base for new markets such as Bio-Medical Sensors.
  • Application Testing and Protocols: Develop and maintain application testing protocols, and ensure the maintenance and SOP development of equipment.
  • Technical Support: Interact with internal and external customers to advance product development and implementation in PCB, PV, and Biosensor applications.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication: Apply scientific knowledge to problem-solving situations and provide regular updates on project progress to project leaders.
  • Product Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and maintain a strong safety commitment.

Requirements

  • Relevant Laboratory Experience: Practical working knowledge in a relevant formulating laboratory environment.
  • Education and Qualifications: Minimum 5 GCSE (A*-C / 4+) with emphasis on science subjects, and A Levels in Chemistry or related discipline, ideally Degree 2:2 or above in Material Science/Chemistry/Biochemistry.
  • Technical Skills: Competent in the use of MSOffice (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word), and additional computer skills, such as programming macros.
  • Teamwork and Leadership: Strong team player with ability to take ownership and responsibility of work, think for themselves, and be receptive to feedback.
