Headway Adolescent Resources, established in 1999, has built a strong reputation in the field of residential adolescent care. We take pride in our ability to understand and support young individuals as unique persons, catering to their diverse backgrounds.

We are currently seeking dedicated Childcare Support Specialists for our residential facilities.

Job Purpose


In this role, you will be stationed in a children's residential setting, working closely with young individuals exhibiting challenging behaviors. The position requires flexibility, resilience, integrity, and strong organizational skills, along with a commitment to delivering high-quality care to help young people achieve optimal outcomes.

This is a permanent position offering excellent career advancement opportunities and a thorough training program within a growing organization.

You will typically work 38 hours per week, following a shift pattern of 2 days on and 4 days off, which includes 2 sleep-in shifts.

Additionally, you will have access to generous allowances for bank holidays, overtime, and a performance-related bonus scheme.

Essential Skills

  • Full manual driving license
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy, maintaining clear and organized records
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive team-oriented attitude
  • Competence in completing daily records to comply with statutory and policy requirements
  • Empathetic disposition
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills across various contexts
  • Capability to engage, motivate, and support young individuals
Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience working with young people
  • Willingness to pursue a fully funded qualification in Level 3 Children and Young People (or already qualified)
