Workshop Controller Job Description
About the Role:
The Recruitment Solution (London) Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Controller to join our team. As a Workshop Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dealership's service department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and Motivate Workshop Staff: Lead a team of skilled technicians and support staff to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of service operations.
- Maximize Workshop Efficiency: Develop and implement strategies to optimize workshop productivity, minimize downtime, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Ensure Accurate Updating of the DMS: Maintain the dealership's computerized maintenance system (DMS) to ensure accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Identify Potential Warranty Claims: Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential warranty claims and ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Coordinate with the Parts Department: Collaborate with the parts department to ensure timely and accurate delivery of parts and materials.
- Complete Job Cards and Conduct Performance Reviews: Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repairs, and conduct regular performance reviews to ensure staff are meeting expectations.
Requirements:
- Previous Experience in a Main Dealer Environment: Proven experience working in a main dealer environment, with a strong understanding of workshop operations and management.
- Knowledge of Workshop Controller Operations: In-depth knowledge of workshop controller operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and customer service.
- Understanding of Management and Training Techniques: Strong understanding of management and training techniques, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Familiarity with Health and Safety Policies: Familiarity with health and safety policies and procedures, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Self-Motivated with Excellent Time Management Skills: Proven ability to work independently, with excellent time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
