About the Role

The Head of Pensions and Treasury will provide strategic leadership and direction on all pension-related issues to Barnet Council. This role will oversee the implementation of pension policy and ensure the efficient administration of the Barnet Pension Scheme.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the team responsible for the day-to-day administration of the pension scheme.
  2. Provide guidance and support to the Pension Fund Committee and Local Pension Board.
  3. Develop and implement the Council's Treasury Management Strategy linked to the Council's Medium Term Plan.
  4. Ensure the pension scheme is administered efficiently, and members and participating employers receive a high-quality service.
  5. Invest funds in line with the agreed strategy, optimize funding policy, and maintain statutory policies.
  6. Produce and audit annual accounts on a timely basis.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience of doing a similar role for a large local authority, experience of both Pensions and Treasury, and CIPFA (or other CCAB) qualified.
