Job Title: Head of Pensions and Treasury

Barnet Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead their in-house pensions team and provide strategic direction on all pension-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the team responsible for implementing pension policy and overseeing external service providers.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Pension Fund Committee and Local Pension Board.
  • Ensure the efficient administration of the Barnet Pension Scheme and provide a high-quality service to members and participating employers.
  • Develop and implement the Council's Treasury Management Strategy linked to the Council's Medium-Term Financial Plan.
Requirements:
  • Experience of working in a similar role for a large local authority.
  • Strong knowledge of pensions and treasury management.
  • CIPFA (or other CCAB) qualified.

The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels. They will also have a strong understanding of pension and treasury management principles and practices.
