Head of Pensions and Treasury

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head of Pensions and Treasury to join our team at Hatched Recruitment Group. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our Treasury Management Strategy, ensuring the efficient administration of our Pension Scheme, and providing expert advice to our S151 officer and elected representatives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement the Treasury Management Strategy, aligned with our Medium Term Plan, and provide advice to our S151 officer and elected representatives.
  2. Lead the Pension Fund Committee and Local Pensions Board, ensuring effective governance and strategy implementation.
  3. Collaborate with the Scheme Actuary to develop a cost-efficient funding policy and process admissions and cessations promptly.
  4. Oversee the effective administration of LGPS membership arrangements, meeting key performance targets, resourcing, and compliance.
  5. Prepare and maintain the Treasury Strategy, Policies, and Procedures.
  6. Lead and motivate staff, providing coaching, mentoring, training, and performance management.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience in a similar role for a large local authority.
  2. Experience in both Pensions and Treasury.
  3. CIPFA (or other CCAB) qualified.
