Asbestos Compliance Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our compliance agenda and ensure the safety of our colleagues, contractors, and residents. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring statutory duties, obligations, and best practices are met in relation to gas servicing, legionella, asbestos, electrical, and other key mechanical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation, approved codes of practice, and guidance in relation to our assets.
• Provide leadership and expertise to support colleagues at an operational and management level to establish and maintain systems that promote a culture of safe working practices.
• Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with council policies and procedures, as well as legislation, and support the successful implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage and monitor the workload and performance of the assets compliance team on a day-to-day basis.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
