Job Title: Technical Manager - Product Quality and Safety

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to join our team in Ashford, Kent. As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for managing all elements related to Product Quality, Safety, Legality, and Integrity for a defined portfolio of suppliers and products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the procurement and category team in relation to supplier selection, product quality attributes, and control parameters.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including conducting site audits, setting technical expectations, and providing guidance and support.
  • Maintain the approved supplier database and complete due diligence audits as required.
  • Generate and approve own brand artwork.
  • Develop and implement product risk management action plans and monitor emerging issues.
  • Focus on complaint trending, monitoring, and root cause analysis, working with suppliers to support annual KPIs.
  • Deliver innovative technical solutions that add value to the business in areas such as cost reduction and improved quality without cost increase.
Requirements:
  • Technical background with a full understanding of the food service industry and relevant degree in Food Science or Technology.
  • Excellent communication skills, customer focus, and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Desirable: Lead assessor qualification and supplier and product management experience.
