Principal HR Consultant


We are collaborating with a Public Sector Organization seeking a Principal HR Consultant for an initial contract period.

This is a full-time position, offering a competitive hourly rate. The successful candidate will undertake responsibilities that blend the roles of a senior HR consultant and a team leader for HR professionals, assistants, and trainees.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert guidance on employee relations, including disciplinary and grievance matters, as well as employment policies and procedures.
  • Leading a team of HR officers to deliver advisory services while promoting agile working practices across the HR Professional Services Team.
  • Utilizing best practice project management techniques and management information to ensure value-added outcomes.
  • Mentoring and coaching junior HR team members to enhance their skills and ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Overseeing various HR processes and performance metrics to ensure timely management of HR casework, in compliance with relevant employment legislation.
  • Acting as a reference point for organizational change management, collaborating with senior HR managers to devise and implement effective HR solutions.
  • Advising management on organizational design, job structuring, and the implications of change on recruitment and development.
  • Providing final advice on complex casework, assisting service managers in resolving issues within appropriate timelines.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
