Job Summary

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Medical Equipment Service Technician to join their Clinical Engineering team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and calibration of a wide range of medical equipment, ensuring that it operates effectively and safely.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with clinical staff to identify and resolve equipment-related issues, and provide technical support and guidance to ensure that equipment is used safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medical equipment, including calibration and testing
  • Identify and resolve equipment-related issues, and provide technical support and guidance to clinical staff
  • Develop and maintain planned maintenance schedules for high-risk medical equipment
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to identify and prioritize equipment-related issues
  • Provide technical training and supervision to junior staff
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality management systems and procedures
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in electronic or clinical engineering, or equivalent
  • Significant experience of servicing, repairing, and calibrating medical equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the service
