Position Overview

The role of Commercial Officer is situated within the Commercial Function of the Resource Division at UK Export Finance.

This division is dedicated to delivering a variety of essential business services, which encompass: (1) overseeing personnel-related functions throughout the employee lifecycle; (2) ensuring cyber and personnel security to protect our workforce and assets; (3) managing facility and estate needs; and (4) executing commercial operations through our newly established Commercial Function, which emphasizes prudent procurement practices and fosters strong supplier relationships.

The strategic focus of the Division is on addressing key workforce challenges, aimed at cultivating a highly engaged team within a culture of ongoing development. We strive to ensure that all employees are effectively managed and supported in an environment that appreciates the diverse contributions of each individual.

The Commercial Officer role is integral to the newly formed Commercial Function, responsible for overseeing procurement strategies and commercial activities across UK Export Finance.

The incumbent will provide support to the entire team while collaborating with stakeholders, suppliers, and other essential personnel to facilitate daily management of inquiries, processes, and communications. This position serves as the primary contact for the team, taking ownership of inquiries and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate governance-related secretariat functions.
  • Respond to inquiries and distribute documents as necessary.
  • Maintain and update the 'Commercial Hub' site with relevant information and updates.
  • Manage documentation related to commercial policies, guidelines, and templates.
  • Assist in reviewing the commercial pipeline and providing business updates.
  • Coordinate revisions to critical documents, including risk registers and business continuity plans.
  • Support contract data management on the Atamis eSourcing platform (training will be provided).
  • Contribute to policy-related activities through research and analysis.
  • Manage diaries and schedule meetings as required.
  • Organize meetings and record minutes.
  • Prepare documentation for meetings.
  • Plan and coordinate events.
  • Create presentations as needed.
  • Type and format documents.
  • Arrange travel and accommodation when necessary.
  • Welcome visitors at all levels of seniority.
  • Collaborate with other government departments and staff.
  • Manage invoices and financial documentation.
  • Perform general administrative tasks and support team activities as required.
