Job Title: Country Director

Job Summary:

The Country Director will lead the development and implementation of key projects and programmes at CABI's regional centre in Malaysia. The role requires leadership, technical expertise, and excellent implementation capabilities, including coordination, budgeting, proposal development, and human resource management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate the centre's activities
  • Manage and develop the regional centre under the supervision of the Regional Director East & Southeast Asia
  • Contribute to the overall achievement of CABI's mission and delivery of key assigned projects
  • Coordinate and liaise with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, MARDI, funding bodies, partners, collaborators, and client communities

Requirements:

  • Leadership and technical expertise in pesticide risk reduction
  • Excellent implementation capabilities, including coordination, budgeting, and human resource management
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, funding bodies, and client communities

Reporting and Supervision:

Reports to: Regional Director, CABI East and Southeast Asia

Direct reports: Project Coordinators and Advisors, Project Officers, Administration and Finance

Salary and Benefits:

Negotiable and commensurate with qualifications and experience
