We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiologist Consultant to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Cardiology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Cardiology services.
Main Responsibilities- Deliver a comprehensive range of in-patient and out-patient Cardiology services, including daily in-reach to the Emergency Floor and regular commitment to outpatient clinic activity.
- Manage the administration generated by these activities, including the reporting of investigations back to GPs and responding to GP correspondence.
- Support the expansion of the complex devices service and contribute to the development of a local Cardiac Electrophysiology service.
- Consultant input and support for the non-invasive Cardiology investigation services.
- Teaching and supervision of medical students, junior medical staff, and technicians/nurses.
- Basic medical degree
- MRCP or appropriate specialist qualification
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
- CCT in Cardiology or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
- Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
- Higher degree
- Training and extensive experience in general cardiology
- Experience in Cardiology out-patient clinics
- Experience and suitable training in heart failure or imaging
- Overall experience and skillset that matches the need of the department
- Echocardiography
- Temporary pacing Understanding of clinical risk management
