Key Responsibilities- Drive scientific strategy and content development for key accounts, leveraging a deep understanding of clinical data, therapeutic areas, and brand objectives.
- Oversee processes, resources, and training within the medical writing team to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
- Write or mentor junior writers to produce engaging content that tells a compelling story in line with client goals.
- Work with programme teams to ensure content is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
- Act as the primary data and therapeutic area expert for specific accounts, building strong relationships with clients and key opinion leaders (KOLs).
- Confidently lead scientific and editorial discussions with clients and KOLs, offering strategic insight and direction.
- Take a lead role in presenting scientific strategy and content plans during client meetings and pitches.
- Regularly assess team capacity, plan for freelance support, and handle recruitment where needed.
- Brief and manage freelancers, ensuring they understand client objectives, brand strategies, and content expectations.
- Manage and mentor junior writers, providing feedback, conducting training, and developing induction programmes.
- Offer ongoing support and training to ensure continuous professional development for the writing team.
- Identify and recommend external training opportunities for team members as needed.
- Ensure writing support estimates are accurate and project reconciliations reflect actual work delivered.
