Senior Buyer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our Commercial team at Currys. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the procurement of Small Domestic Appliances, working closely with our suppliers to drive business growth and profitability.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in buying and management, with experience in FMCG or Hard Goods fast-paced retailers. You will be responsible for negotiating product ranges, cost pricing, and promotional funding support to drive sales while maintaining margin in line with financial objectives.

You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with our suppliers, ensuring that we have the best proposition in the market and that we are supporting their biggest launches with in-store activations, colleague training, and engagement.

The role requires excellent numerical and analytical skills, as well as strong decision-making skills to enable the right actions for the category. You will also need to have good working knowledge of SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as MS Office workflow tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate product ranges and cost pricing with suppliers
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Drive business growth and profitability through effective procurement strategies
  • Manage and analyze data to inform procurement decisions
  • Work closely with the Go To Market team to ensure effective execution of category plans

Requirements:

  • Substantial buying experience in FMCG or Hard Goods fast-paced retailers
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage supplier relationships
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Good working knowledge of SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Management/leadership experience of more than 1 direct report
