Position Overview:

Professional Technical Ltd is seeking a qualified Registered Building Compliance Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in fostering relationships with clients while providing expert guidance on building regulatory frameworks and conducting thorough site evaluations and inspections.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain awareness of and adhere to best practices regarding risk management initiatives, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures related to professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
  • Conduct restricted activities in line with the Registered Building Compliance Officer Code of Conduct for designated projects, ensuring adherence to building regulations and construction standards.
  • Mentor and support junior technical staff to uphold our service standards in all aspects of building control activities.
  • Facilitate the introduction and delivery of new services and products as necessary.
  • Evaluate applications and attend relevant meetings, training sessions, and seminars as required.
  • Act as a representative for clients, maintaining a professional demeanor in all interactions.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects within a designated area, providing technical support and guidance to clients and junior team members.
  • Optimize inspection schedules and plan checking requirements through effective time management.
  • Keep accurate records of inspections and manage customer relationships to foster business growth.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, building meaningful relationships.
Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess a keen attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset. You should be capable of making informed decisions to ensure the safety and compliance of buildings, working independently in accordance with established policies.

  • Chartered or actively pursuing full corporate membership with the Chartered Institute of Building Engineers or the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  • Hold and maintain the necessary Technical Class 2 Registered Building Compliance Officer status.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, technical guidance, and the implications of the Building Safety Act.
  • Knowledge of fire safety, health and safety regulations, and the construction design process.
  • Experience in building control environments, with a proven track record in compliance and enforcement of building regulations.
  • Ability to assess safety and risk effectively, managing site inspections and reporting.
  • Strong relationship management skills across various teams and stakeholders.
