About the Role

TE Connectivity is seeking a highly motivated Product Engineer to join our Ruggedized Fiber Optics (RFO) group, focusing primarily on sustaining development. As part of our team, you will be responsible for optimizing existing products, maintaining product specifications, and implementing programs to improve quality and cost while meeting customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaison to Manufacturing: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Engineering Change Requests: Create and manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to update product designs and specifications.
  • Testing and Validation: Support and witness testing in the lab, and participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities.
  • Design and Development: Create design verification test (DVT)/Qual test plans, and make changes to drawings in SolidWorks/CREO/ZWCAD to support UK MIL or General Market Controlled ECR/ECNs.
  • Product Extensions: Address requests for product extensions, drawing changes, and engineering quotes.
  • Part Management: Handle requests to get parts extended and costed in SAP.
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient with MS Office software.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, CREO, and Autocad.
  • Strong Technical Aptitude with a willingness to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Self-driven and result-oriented.
  • Multitasking in a matrix organization.
  • Desire to solve problems with analytical thinking.
  • Good people management and execution skills.
  • Strong organization skills and team player.
