Job Overview

At TE Connectivity, we are seeking a highly motivated Product Engineer to join our Ruggedized Fiber Optics (RFO) group, focusing primarily on sustaining development. As part of our team, you will be working with professionals who are passionate about ensuring the future growth of the business while maintaining integrity, taking accountability, working together, and continually improving to ensure constant innovation and openness to change.

This position will report directly to the RFO Engineering Manager in the US, and this role is a hybrid role with onsite presence at our Hastings plant required.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Liaison to Manufacturing in Hastings plant location
  2. Create Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) support/witness testing in the lab
  3. DVT/Qual cable assembly design/drawings
  4. Component modeling/print creation
  5. Participate in DFMEA/PFMEA
  6. Support design review preparation/presentation
  7. Model shop requests
  8. Support build or build prototype parts
  9. Tolerance analysis
  10. Create design verification test (DVT)/Qual test plans, create test request
  11. Make changes to drawings in SolidWorks/CREO/ZWCAD to support UK MIL or General Market Controlled ECR/ECNs
  12. Address requests for product extensions, drawing changes, engineering quotes
  13. Handle requests to get part extended and costed SAP
  14. Support Expanded Bean Product Line for changes and product extensions
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Proficient with MS Office software
  • Experience with SolidWorks, CREO, and AutoCAD
  • Strong Technical Aptitude with willingness to learn new technologies quickly
  • Self-driven & result-oriented
  • Multitasking in a matrix organization
  • Desire to solve problems with analytical thinking
  • Good in people management and execution skills
  • Strong organization skills and teamwork
