About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled 3D CAD Designer to join our team at Aqumen Recruitment. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for creating detailed CAD drawings and designs for piping systems and supports.

Key Responsibilities
  1. CAD Drawing Creation: Transform hand-drawn field sketches into detailed CAD drawings, incorporating essential information such as PED, Piping Classes, Flange Ratings, Pipe Schedule, Materials Take Off, NDE Requirements, and Paint Requirements.
  2. GA Modelling & Design: Engage in general arrangement (GA) modelling and design activities for piping systems and supports.
  3. Fabrication Drawings: Produce piping isometrics and detailed steelwork drawings suitable for fabrication, including piece mill part drawings, parallel line developments, and templates.
  4. Isometric Drawings: Extract and create isometric drawings from GA/3D models and issue them to the workshop for fabrication.
  5. Standards Adherence: Ensure all designs adhere to P&IDs, industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
  6. Technical Input: Provide technical input during the detailed engineering phase of projects and support the preparation of construction work packs, including weld maps and NDE requirements.
Requirements
  1. AutoCAD Proficiency: Must be computer literate and a proficient user of AutoCAD or similar drawing software.
  2. Industry Experience: Previous experience in the Mechanical Engineering industry is essential.
  3. Driving Licence: Must hold a full UK driving licence.
  4. Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with ASME and BS EN standards is crucial.
  5. Piping Design: Knowledge of piping design and calculations is a significant asset.
