Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement maintenance strategies specific to food production facilities.
- Lead and manage the maintenance team, delegating tasks, providing training, and assessing performance.
- Organize and schedule maintenance tasks to minimize interruptions in production.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards.
Preventive Maintenance Implementation:
- Establish and oversee a preventive maintenance program to avert equipment failures and prolong machinery lifespan.
- Analyze maintenance data to identify patterns and proactively address recurring issues.
- Create maintenance protocols, checklists, and schedules based on equipment specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to mitigate equipment-related quality concerns.
Repair Coordination and Troubleshooting:
- Respond swiftly to maintenance requests and emergencies, prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Coordinate and oversee repairs and troubleshooting efforts for prompt resolutions.
- Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and establish relationships with vendors for efficient procurement.
Food Safety and Compliance Assurance:
- Enforce adherence to food safety regulations such as HACCP, GMP, and FSMA.
- Implement and maintain proper sanitation practices for equipment and facilities.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify safety and quality concerns.
- Work closely with quality assurance and operations teams for corrective measures.
Budget Oversight:
- Develop and manage the budget for the maintenance department.
- Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize resource allocation.
- Recommend equipment purchases or upgrades based on thorough evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Supervisor in food production, preferably in a similar sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food processing equipment, machinery, and facility maintenance.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality standards.
- Proven leadership skills in managing and motivating teams.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and related software.
