About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Medicine Consultant to join our team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Acute Medical Services team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical strategy.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Acute Medicine, with experience in managing complex medical cases and leading multidisciplinary teams. You will be responsible for providing expert clinical leadership, developing and implementing clinical pathways, and contributing to the improvement of patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex medical cases
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the development of clinical pathways
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and reduce length of stay
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes
  • Contribute to the improvement of clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • Full GMC Registration
  • MRCP or an equivalent postgraduate qualification
  • Entry on the GMC specialist register via relevant CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview), or relevant CESR or European Community Rights, or Consultant experience in Acute/General medicine
  • Leadership or teaching experience
  • Distinctions, scholarships, prizes, publications
  • Other degrees, e.g., BSc, MSc, MD
