Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Clinical Pharmacist specializing in Neonatal and Pediatric care to join our esteemed pediatric pharmacy team. This role is essential in delivering a high-level clinical pharmacy service to patients across general pediatric wards, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The successful candidate will also play a pivotal role in mentoring and developing team members.

Key Responsibilities

A patient-focused mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team are crucial for this position.

We are looking for a professional eager to enhance both their career and the quality of service provided to patients within our organization.

Engage with senior pharmacy, medical, and nursing personnel, as well as other allied health professionals, to advocate for the safe, evidence-based, and cost-efficient use of medications in the assigned clinical area.

Champion medication safety and optimize pharmaceutical care for neonates and children in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Master's degree in pharmacy.
  • Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.

Desirable:

  • MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Management qualification.
  • Registered independent prescriber with the GPhC.

Experience:

Essential:

  • Significant post-registration experience in clinical pharmacy.
  • Experience in patient consultations.
  • Experience in documenting pharmaceutical care issues.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a teaching hospital.
  • Experience in independent prescribing.

Knowledge and Skills:

Essential:

  • Advanced clinical knowledge of pharmacotherapy.
  • Familiarity with UK healthcare systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of electronic prescribing systems.
