Claims Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Claims Handler to join our Green Claims Team at National Highways. As a Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of cases, working with various stakeholders to ensure the collection of robust information and timely claims resolution.
Key Responsibilities:- Investigate cases thoroughly, gathering evidence from all relevant sources to provide recommendations to the Claims Manager on resolutions.
- Collaborate with the legal department and barristers to obtain supporting evidence for claims, ensuring all decisions withstand scrutiny and comply with regulations and legislation.
- Directly contact claimants, interrogate their version of events, and apply professional judgment and experience to support case resolution.
- Work closely with insurers, service providers, Traffic Office service, ROC/RCC, inspectors, quantity surveyors, estimators, and area teams to obtain information for case resolution.
- Closely monitor and manage cases, ensuring timely resolution through negotiation with insurers and loss adjusters or by sending recommendations to the Claims Manager.
- Produce recommendations and reports for the Claims Manager, ensuring accurate recording for auditing purposes and providing robust arguments to aid decision-making.
- Experience in handling cases within an insurance claims environment (desirable).
- Excellent negotiating and client management skills.
- Able to work under pressure and prioritize workload effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Previous experience in office administration and competent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
