About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled VAT Compliance Manager to join our team at Redefined Ltd. As a key member of our outsourcing practice, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth and service delivery of our centralised UK, EU, and Global VAT compliance capability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct insightful analysis of VAT returns and data, ensuring timely delivery of UK, EU, and international VAT compliance engagements.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for clients, providing quality assurance over all indirect tax filings.
  • Utilize technical expertise to assess and review AP/AR data, transactions, tax codes, and determine appropriate VAT treatments and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor the quality of indirect tax data inputs, reports, and analyse outputs from key data tests performed during client onboarding and regular return cycles.
  • Develop a deep understanding of clients' business models, supply chains, data, and ERP systems to provide exceptional client servicing and identify VAT opportunities.
  • Oversee the day-to-day monitoring, management, and development of junior members responsible for delivering compliance services.
  • Assist in building a UK/EU and Global VAT compliance knowledge centre/database for clients and the delivery team to enhance efficiency and improve client experience.
  • Ensure compliance documentation and process notes are up-to-date, reflecting legislative and business changes to ensure accurate VAT reporting.
  • Identify issues and opportunities to continuously improve internal compliance processes and participate in process efficiency and transformation projects for clients.

About the Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent VAT compliance technical skills, ideally from a previous European role in practice or industry, with the ability to identify advisory projects from underlying compliance data.
  • A strong interest and capability in VAT return processing, process improvement, and technology enablement.
  • Ownership and management skills, with the ability and experience to manage and guide junior members of staff in the compliance function.
  • Effective use of IT, including Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel, and extending to Alteryx and similar tools.
  • Relationship management skills, both internally and externally.
  • Experience with projects having an international dimension and an appreciation of the cultural nuances this generates.
  • Ability to organise and manage time efficiently and effectively.
  • Skills in functional process-mapping, including attention to detail and ability to identify anomalies.
  • Ambitious and motivated, with a clear progression path for the right individual.
