About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team at Redefined Ltd. As a key member of our Compliance function, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery and growth of our centralised UK, EU and Global VAT compliance capability.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing insightful analysis of VAT returns and data to ensure timely delivery of UK, EU and international VAT compliance engagements.
  • Serving as the central point of contact for clients and ensuring quality assurance over all indirect tax filings.
  • Assessing and reviewing AP/AR data, transactions, and tax codes to determine appropriate VAT treatments and reporting requirements.
  • Monitoring the quality of indirect tax data inputs, reports, and analysing outputs from key data tests performed during client onboarding and regular return cycles.
  • Developing a deep understanding of clients' business models, supply chains, data, and ERP systems to provide excellent client servicing and anticipate VAT opportunities.
  • Day-to-day monitoring, management, and development of junior members responsible for delivery of compliance services.
  • Assisting in building a UK/EU and Global VAT compliance knowledge centre/database for clients and the delivery team to enhance efficiency and improve client experience.
  • Ensuring compliance documentation and process notes are kept up-to-date, reflecting legislative and business changes to ensure accurate VAT reporting.
  • Identifying issues and opportunities to continuously improve internal compliance processes and involvement in process efficiency and transformation projects for clients.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced VAT Expert who possesses excellent technical skills, ideally from a previous European role in practice or industry. You should have a strong ability to identify advisory projects from underlying compliance data and be proficient in VAT return processing, process improvement, and technology enablement.

You will be responsible for managing and guiding junior members of staff in the compliance function, using effective IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel, and extending to Alteryx and similar tools. Strong relationship management skills, both internally and externally, are essential, as well as exposure to projects with an international dimension and an appreciation of cultural nuances.
