About the Role

This is a key position within the RSM outsourcing practice, supporting the growth of the centralised UK, EU, and Global VAT compliance capability. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality VAT compliance services to clients, including insightful analysis of VAT returns and timely delivery of compliance engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert VAT compliance advice to clients, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of compliance services.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of client's business model, supply chain, and data systems to provide excellent client servicing and identify VAT opportunities.
  • Manage and guide junior members of staff in the compliance function, ensuring effective use of IT tools and processes.
  • Identify issues and opportunities to continuously improve internal compliance processes and involvement in process efficiency and transformation projects for clients.
  • Assist in building a UK, EU, and Global VAT compliance knowledge centre/database for clients and delivery team to enhance efficiency and improve client experience.

About the Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an experienced VAT compliance professional with a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality compliance services. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of VAT regulations, a strong analytical mind, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Excellent VAT compliance technical skills, ideally from a previous European role in practice or industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify advisory projects from underlying compliance data.
  • Effective use of IT tools, including Microsoft Office packages and Alteryx.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage and guide junior members of staff in the compliance function.
