A prominent and rapidly growing principal contractor is seeking to hire a Moisture Control Specialist on a temporary to permanent basis.

This organization has consistently expanded its operations and has an ambitious growth strategy in place. With the recent acquisition of new contracts set to begin shortly, they are looking to enhance their workforce.


Your role will involve working in the Buxton and Staffordshire Moorlands area, collaborating with councils and housing associations through a reputable contractor.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct property inspections to identify necessary repairs and improvements, particularly concerning damp and mould issues.
- Oversee the contributions of contractors in executing and finalizing repair works.
- Perform follow-up inspections and quality assurance checks.
- Possess a solid understanding of technical terminology and the causes of dampness, including leaks and condensation.
- Address issues related to rising damp, penetrating damp, and cold bridging, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding.
- Manage tenant expectations and provide guidance on effective methods to mitigate dampness and mould in properties.

Qualifications

- Certification as a Surveyor of Timber & Dampness in Buildings (CSTDB) or equivalent certification in Dampness in Buildings (CSDB)
- A degree related to construction or relevant experience in the field
- Experience in social housing with a strong grasp of building maintenance terminology and repair processes.
- Familiarity with housing condition legislation, including disrepair and the Fit for Human Habitation Act.
- Knowledge of HHSRS, Party Wall Act, Environmental Health Act, and Building Regulations.
- Proven experience in conducting site visits, identifying building defects, and performing inspections of ongoing work and completed projects.
