Job Title: Child Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Psychologist to join our team at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Waitaha Canterbury.

About the Role

The Child, Adolescent & Family Mental Health Service (North Community & Outreach Team) is a specialist mental health service that provides assessment and treatment of young people up to 18 years of age who present with serious mental health problems, and their families/whānau.

As a Child Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical assessment, psychometric testing, and therapeutic interventions individually or in groups as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing clinical assessment and treatment to young people and their families
  • Working collaboratively with community and statutory organisations
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans
  • Providing training and education to other healthcare professionals

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology, with experience in working with young people and their families. You will be a registered psychologist with a postgraduate diploma in clinical psychology or child and family psychology.
