Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Administrative Officer to join our team at the Department for Work and Pensions in Sunderland. As an Administrative Officer, you will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service to our clients, ensuring that they receive accurate and timely information about our benefits services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries and provide accurate information about our benefits services, resolving issues and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Manage Customer Relationships: Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, providing them with support and guidance throughout the application process.
  • Process Applications: Review and process applications for benefits, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Communicate with Colleagues: Collaborate with colleagues across the department to ensure that customer needs are met and that applications are processed efficiently.
  • Continuously Improve: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to processes and procedures to ensure that customer service is consistently high-quality.
Requirements
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a benefits or social services environment.
