Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Adoption Support Team within Kent County Council. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a Regional Adoption Agency that provides adoption services on behalf of the London Borough of Bexley, Kent County Council, and Medway Council.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the support needs of adoptive families and provide tailored support interventions.
- Work alongside multi-professional networks, including education, social care, and early help teams, to deliver therapeutic workshops and courses to parents.
- Develop and maintain relationships with adoptive families, providing guidance and support throughout their adoption journey.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the complex needs of adopted children and families.
Requirements
- Excellent assessment skills and ability to work with parents and children who may be in distress.
- Understanding of the adoption journey for parents and a child.
- Experience or an understanding of the complex needs of adopted children and families.
- Registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England.
