About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Lounge, a leading restaurant group in the UK. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional food quality and service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and engage the kitchen team to deliver high-quality food and excellent service standards.
  • Support the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen operations.
  • Ensure the kitchen runs effectively and safely, maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.
  • Manage stock levels, labour, and sales forecasts to optimize kitchen performance.
  • Develop and implement training programs for kitchen staff, including apprentices and junior chefs.

Requirements
  • Experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef/Assistant Kitchen Manager.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders and build rapport and trust.
  • Familiarity with KPIs and decision-making in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Ability to lead from the front, playing an active role in delivering excellent kitchen and food standards.
