About the Role

The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Haematologist to join our team of medical professionals. As a Consultant Haematologist, you will be responsible for providing clinical care to patients with blood disorders, including haematological malignancies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist advice on all aspects of haematology to colleagues within the Trust and Primary Care.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols for the management of blood disorders.
  • Participate in the education and training of junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience of audit and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • Broad training in all aspects of clinical and laboratory haematology.
  • FRCPath (Haematology) or equivalent and M/FRCP or equivalent are essential qualifications for this post.
  • Registered with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice and an accredited specialist in Haematology (or within 6 months of gaining CCT) or equivalent.
