Job Title: Accident and Emergency Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Accident and Emergency Nurse to join our team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Cardiology Ward, ensuring the provision of safe, high-quality, and individualized care to patients. They will also be responsible for the line management and development of the ward staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Management: Line management and supervision of all grades of staff within the sphere of authority, allocation of workload, and reporting deficiencies to the Ward Leader as appropriate.
  • Multidisciplinary Liaison: Liaison with all disciplines and departments that interface with care delivery, encouraging good working relationships between all members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Communications: Assisting in the development of communication systems and maintaining existing effective systems within the clinical area.
  • Clinical Governance: Assisting the Ward Leader in setting, maintaining, and monitoring standards of care, actively supporting the development and implementation of a written nursing philosophy.
  • Education & Training: Participating in ongoing personal professional development programs and in the teaching and development of all grades of staff.
  • Research & Audit: Demonstrating a commitment to the development of research skills, assisting in the application and evaluation of current research findings.
Requirements
  • Experience in managing a ward or department in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and quality improvement principles.
  • Ability to participate in ongoing professional development.
