About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and organized individual to join our team as a 2 Week Waiting List Administrator. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the delivery of high-quality care for patients with suspected cancer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Two Week Wait Management Team, including data input and referral processing.
  • Ensure that referrals are prioritized and processed in a timely manner, adhering to national and local guidelines.
  • Book appointments and produce patient appointment letters and notifications in accordance with cancer referral guidelines and departmental protocols.
  • Liaise with GPs and primary care staff regarding inappropriate or unclear referrals, maintaining a professional and appropriate manner at all times.
  • Track referrals and ensure progress through the referral system, identifying and addressing any issues or breaches of waiting times targets.
  • Work closely with the Two Week Wait Management Team to ensure the efficient delivery of the rapid referral process.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in administration, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of hospital database systems and experience with data input and referral processing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
