Main Responsibilities

As a Team Lead Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the Physiotherapy mainstream service, supervising more junior members of staff and therapy assistants, and holding a large and complex caseload of children and young people with neurodisabilities.

Key Duties
  • Manage and coordinate caseloads and activities for a designated area, making adjustments as required.
  • Assess, develop, and implement physiotherapy treatment utilising specialist theoretical knowledge and relevant practical experience within Paediatric Neurological service.
  • Undertake lead responsibility of the supervision, training, and appraisal of assistant practitioners, unqualified staff, peers, and colleagues of specialist and physiotherapy practitioner grades and physiotherapy students.
  • Work as part of a wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide day-to-day line management to a team of staff.
Requirements
  • Recent extensive previous experience of providing highly skilled therapeutic clinical services for Paediatric neurological, neuro-muscular, neurodegenerative, and neuro-developmental conditions and presentations.
  • Experience of managing a team or members of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Competent in core areas of Physiotherapy practice.
  • Full driving Licence and use of a car.
Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Understanding of the NHS Constitution and responsibilities to the public, patients, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding procedures.
  • Understanding of long-term management of Paediatric conditions.
  • Understanding of how local socio-economic factors and demographics impact on health.
  • Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy studies.
  • Experience of working in the NHS.
  • HCPC Registered.
  • Membership of APCP or other SIGs.
