Research Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our interdisciplinary research team at the School of Engineering. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of researchers and contribute to a collaborative project that aims to investigate the environmental and process factors affecting nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from trickling filters (TFs).
About the Project
The project will involve working with a consortium of leading research institutions and industry partners to deliver a scientifically robust study. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the design, implementation, and analysis of experiments, as well as collaborate with colleagues to disseminate the findings and implement recommendations for the UK water industry.
About the Role
This is a full-time position (37 hours per week) available for a fixed term of 9 months, with the possibility of extending to 12 months. The successful candidate will be based primarily at the Gateshead campus, with occasional travel to Newcastle University campus. A UK driving licence is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and analysis of experiments
- Collaborate with colleagues to disseminate findings and implement recommendations
- Work with the research team to develop and maintain research protocols and procedures
- Assist with the preparation of research reports and publications
Requirements
