We are seeking dedicated SEMH Learning Support Assistants to join our secondary schools in Bishop Stortford, supporting students who require additional help due to SEMH challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting SEMH students in classroom settings, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities.
  • Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies tailored to the needs of SEMH students.
  • Building rapport and trust with students to create a supportive and nurturing environment.
  • Collaborating with teachers to monitor progress and development of SEMH students.
  • Promoting positive behavior and emotional regulation techniques.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience working with SEMH students in a school or similar setting.
  • Understanding of SEMH challenges and effective strategies to support these needs.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behavior sensitively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
