Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Description:

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education, working in Bishop's Stortford. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be a crucial part of our mission to create an environment where every student can thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Implement strategies and interventions to support the social and emotional development of students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to address specific needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behavior support plans.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar Teaching Assistant role is advantageous.
  • Empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
  • Knowledge of relevant SEMH strategies and interventions.
