Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, promoting positive behavior and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to develop and implement strategies that support social and emotional development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting empathy and understanding.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behavior support plans, working closely with the teaching team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar Teaching Assistant role, preferably in a SEMH setting.
  • Empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
  • Knowledge of relevant SEMH strategies and interventions, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
