About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intellectual Property (IP) professional to join our team as a Senior Intellectual Property Advisor. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading company in the oil and gas industry, driving innovation and growth through effective IP management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patent Portfolio Management: Develop and implement strategies to manage and protect our patent portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • IP Strategy Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement IP strategies that support business growth and innovation.
  • Patent Prosecution: Manage the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, ensuring timely and cost-effective outcomes.
  • IP Training and Education: Develop and deliver IP training programs to ensure that employees understand the importance of IP and how to protect it.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Conduct competitive intelligence analysis to identify opportunities and threats related to IP.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including R&D, marketing, and legal teams, to ensure effective IP management and protection.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Qualified professional representative before the US Patent & Trademark Office, with a strong background in electrical or computer engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or physics.
  • Experience: At least 3+ years of experience in the field of intellectual property in developing patent portfolios, with a strong understanding of US patent laws, Paris Convention, European Patent Convention, and Patent Cooperation Treaty.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and project management skills, with the ability to identify issues and escalate them as necessary. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in the field of intellectual property in patent procurement and portfolio management, with a strong understanding of computer software, computer hardware elements, IoT, data analysis, machine learning, AI, and/or embedded software/hardware systems.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English (oral and written), with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
