Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Staff Nurse to join our In-Patient Unit (IPU) team at Princess Alice Hospice. As a key member of our multi-professional team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality end of life care to our patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of patient needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Liaise closely with senior nursing team members and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Implement evidence-based care practices and communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure continuity of care.
  • Act as a mentor, supervisor, and assessor to support the development of junior staff and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to Hospice standards and best practices.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with the NMC and a Palliative Care qualification (such as ECEPC).
  • Experience in leading a team of nurses and mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in an emotionally demanding environment.
  • Computer literacy and willingness to develop teaching and assessing skills.
  • Awareness of Hospice philosophy and the structure and nature of specialist palliative care services.
