Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Engineer to join our Loss Prevention organization at ICM Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing daily support to our facilities and departments, helping them effectively implement Safety Management Systems and associated programs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Facilitate Safety Management System Implementation: Develop and implement safety processes, participate in self-assessments, and ensure compliance with company and international codes and standards.
  2. Conduct Field Inspections and Reviews: Assess compliance, identify safety concerns, formulate solutions, and develop corrective actions.
  3. Identify and Evaluate Safety Risks: Recommend actions and follow up on critical safety tasks and control methodologies related to operational safety practices.
  4. Participate in Safety Studies and Activities: Conduct risk assessments, PHAs, HAZOPs, JSAs, incident investigations, compliance reviews, and insurance surveys.
  5. Respond to Emergency Situations: Provide technical assistance and advice during or after regular working hours.
  6. Support Contractor Safety Management: Monitor work site compliance, measure performance, and participate in contractor selection and prequalification.
  7. Investigate Incidents and Provide Recommendations: Support the reporting, classification, and investigation of incidents, and participate in root cause analysis and prevention of recurrence.
  8. Deliver Training and Mentorship: Provide Loss Prevention-specific training to employees, contractors, and outside parties, and mentor other Loss Prevention personnel.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an Accredited Institution.
  2. Experience: 7 years of experience as a safety professional in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related industries, with a strong track record in delivering results.
  3. Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate in English with peers and management, and produce clear and concise oral and written reports.
