Job Title: Soft Hub Room Leader

Job Purpose: Educate within the EYFS/KS1 Soft Hub

We are collaborating with a Primary School seeking a dedicated Soft Hub Room Leader. This role involves working with primary-aged children who have complex needs. You will partner with the SENDCo to ensure the children's requirements are met effectively. The ideal candidate will be a confident professional, responsible for both teaching and providing pastoral care for up to ten EYFS and KS1 students. You will collaborate with two other staff members, all committed to delivering exceptional care and support to the children.

Key Responsibilities of a Soft Hub Room Leader:

  • Design and prepare resources for individual and small group activities, focusing on a multi-sensory approach.
  • Ensure that all children's needs are addressed appropriately.
  • Develop and implement teaching strategies tailored to the children's needs.
  • Assess and report on the progress, achievements, and attainment of the children to the SENCO.
  • Support children in mainstream classes to facilitate their gradual reintegration.
  • Collaborate with the SENCo and mainstream educators to assist pupils in transitioning to mainstream classes.

Qualifications Required for Soft Hub Room Leader:

  • Must possess a SEND qualification; having qualified teacher status is desirable.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working with children with SEND or complex needs, preferably in a primary education setting.
  • Familiarity with the primary school curriculum and the ability to adapt it to meet the children's needs.
  • Experience in planning and leading intervention strategies.
  • Working knowledge of EHC plans and the SEND Code of Practice is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
