Job Purpose: Educate in the EYFS/KS1 Soft Hub

We are collaborating with a Primary School seeking a dedicated Early Years Soft Hub Leader. This role involves working with primary-aged children who have complex needs. You will partner with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to ensure that each child's requirements are met effectively. The ideal candidate will be a confident professional capable of taking responsibility for the educational and emotional support of up to ten EYFS and KS1 students. You will collaborate with two other staff members, all committed to providing exceptional care and support for the children.

Key Responsibilities of an Early Years Soft Hub Leader:

  • Design and prepare resources for individual and small group activities, with a strong emphasis on a multi-sensory approach.
  • Ensure that all children's needs are adequately addressed.
  • Develop and implement teaching strategies tailored to the children's requirements.
  • Assess and report to the SENCo regarding the progress, achievements, and development of the children.
  • Support children in mainstream classes to facilitate their gradual reintegration.
  • Collaborate with the SENCo and mainstream educators to assist pupils in transitioning to mainstream settings.

Qualifications Required for Early Years Soft Hub Leader:

  • Must possess a SEND qualification; having qualified teacher status is advantageous.
  • A minimum of two years' experience working with children with SEND or complex needs, preferably in a primary educational environment.
  • Familiarity with the primary school curriculum and the ability to adapt it to meet the children's needs.
  • Experience in planning and leading intervention strategies.
  • Working knowledge of Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans and the SEND Code of Practice is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
